A Christianity prayer for mental illness.

Gracious Lord,

When my heart has become weary from disappointment, worry, sadness, or struggle, breathe new hope into my life. Heal the wounds I carry within and help me release burdens that have followed me for too long.

Renew my ability to experience joy, appreciate the goodness around me, and look toward the future without being imprisoned by the difficulties of the past. Give me strength to grow through what I have experienced without allowing hardship to make my heart bitter.

Create within me a spirit of peace, compassion, courage, and hope, and lead me forward into a new season of life.

Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen.
