A Prayer When Grief Feels Overwhelming

A Christianity prayer for loss of a loved one.

Great Comforter, You see the sorrow that others cannot always see and understand the pain I cannot fully explain. When grief rises suddenly and overwhelms me, hold me steady and help me take each moment as it comes.

When I cannot think about tomorrow, give me enough strength for today. When even today feels too difficult, give me enough strength for the next hour and remind me that I do not have to walk through this season alone.

Bring rest to my exhausted heart and slowly lead me toward healing without asking me to forget the person I loved. In Christ, Amen.
