Prayer for a Loved One Who Has Passed

Lord, we commend to you the soul of one we love.

We grieve their absence from our table,
from our daily life,
from the simple ordinary moments
we never thought to treasure enough.

Hold them in your light.
May they know the fullness of peace they could not always find here.
May they be held in love beyond what we can imagine.

And hold us too —
we who remain,
learning to carry the shape of this absence,
finding in memory a form of presence.

May we grieve well, love well,
and live well in their honor.
