A Prayer for the First Days After a Loss

A Christianity prayer for loss of a loved one.

Heavenly Lord, everything feels different now that someone I love is gone. In these first difficult days, when there are decisions to make and emotions I can barely understand, give me strength for each moment as it comes.

When I feel numb, confused, angry, or overwhelmed, help me remember that grief has many forms and does not follow a simple path. Surround me with people who will offer patience, practical help, and a listening ear without expecting me to have all the answers.

Carry me through these early days of sorrow and give me the rest and courage I need to continue. In Jesus' name, Amen.
