Prayer of the Morning

Lord, as I rise to meet this new day,
I offer you my first thoughts,
my first breath,
my first moments of waking.

Thank you for the gift of rest,
for the renewal of sleep,
for waking once more in your grace.

Guide my steps today.
Guard my words.
Open my eyes to see the beauty you have placed around me.
Open my heart to receive whoever comes my way.

May this day be lived in your light.
May everything I do reflect your love.
