The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever.

Amen.

A Morning Prayer

Creator of this new day,

Thank You for the morning before me and for another opportunity to live with purpose.

Guide my thoughts, words, and actions today. Help me notice the person who needs encouragement, recognise the good I might otherwise overlook, and respond patiently when things do not go according to plan.

Keep me from carrying tomorrow's worries before tomorrow arrives.

Whatever this day brings, give me wisdom to meet it, strength to walk through it, and a grateful heart when evening comes.

Amen.

A Prayer to Begin the Day with God

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for waking me to another day and for the blessings You have placed in my life. Before I begin everything that lies ahead, I turn my heart toward You.

Guide my thoughts and decisions, and help me speak with kindness and act with patience. When difficulties arise, remind me that Your presence is greater than anything I may face.

Help me use this day wisely and become a source of encouragement to the people around me. May everything I do today bring honor to You.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Prayer for Morning Peace

Gracious Lord,

As this morning begins, calm the thoughts that trouble me and lift the worries that weigh upon my heart. Help me remember that I can place every concern before You.

Give me peace about the things I cannot control and wisdom to deal with the things I can change. When my mind becomes overwhelmed, help me return my attention to Your goodness and faithfulness.

Let Your peace remain with me throughout this day and help me share that peace with others.

In Christ, Amen.

A Prayer of Morning Gratitude

Loving Father, thank You for the breath in my lungs, the morning before me, and another opportunity to experience Your goodness. Help me notice the blessings I too easily overlook.

Teach me to be grateful not only when life is easy, but also when I am waiting for answers or walking through uncertainty. Give me eyes to recognize Your goodness in both the ordinary and extraordinary moments of this day.

May gratitude shape my attitude, my words, and the way I treat every person I meet.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

A Prayer for a New Day

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the gift of this new day. Thank You for Your mercy, which is new every morning, and for Your faithfulness that never fails.

Guide my thoughts, words, and actions today. Help me to love others with kindness, serve with humility, and walk in obedience to Your Word.

Protect me from temptation and keep me close to You throughout the day. Give me wisdom for every decision and strength for every task.

May Your peace fill my heart, and may my life bring honour and glory to Jesus Christ.

I commit this day into Your hands.

In His precious name I pray.

Amen.

Morning Prayer of the Tao

In the stillness of the morning,

I return to the source.

Like water that seeks the lowest place,

I let go of striving and become still.

The ten thousand things arise and fall,

and I watch their return.

Each one returns to its root.

Returning to the root is stillness.

Stillness is returning to life.

Returning to life is the constant.

Knowing the constant is wisdom.

Not knowing the constant,

one acts blindly and invites disaster.

Knowing the constant,

the mind is open.

With an open mind,

the heart is open.

With an open heart,

you act with kindness.

Prayer of the Morning

Lord,

As I rise to meet this new day,

I offer you my first thoughts,

my first breath,

my first moments of waking.

Thank you for the gift of rest,

for the renewal of sleep,

for waking once more in your grace.

Guide my steps today.

Guard my words.

Open my eyes to see the beauty you have placed around me.

Open my heart to receive whoever comes my way.

May this day be lived in your light.

May everything I do reflect your love.

Amen.
