A Prayer for Someone Starting a New Job

God of new beginnings,

Be with me as I begin this new work.

Give me confidence without pride, willingness to learn, and patience while unfamiliar responsibilities become familiar. Help me build good relationships with the people around me and contribute something worthwhile through the work I do.

When I make mistakes, help me learn rather than become discouraged. When challenges arise, give me wisdom to respond well.

May this opportunity provide not only income and stability, but also growth, friendship, purpose, and opportunities to serve others.

Amen.

A Prayer Before Work

Lord God,

As I begin my work today, I ask for Your guidance and wisdom. Help me to work honestly, diligently, and with a heart that seeks to honour You.

Give me patience when challenges arise, wisdom when decisions must be made, and kindness in every conversation. Help me to treat others with respect and to carry out my responsibilities with integrity.

May everything I do today bring glory to You and serve those around me well.

Protect me throughout this day and bring me safely home.

Through Jesus Christ my Lord.

Amen.

Prayer Before Work

Lord,

Bless the work of my hands today.

As I go about my duties,

may I do them with integrity and care.

May I serve those around me with patience.

May I find meaning in even the smallest task.

When I am frustrated, give me calm.

When I am tired, give me strength.

When I am tempted to cut corners, give me courage to do what is right.

Let my work be an act of worship,

a small offering placed upon the altar of this ordinary day.

Amen.

Prayer Before Work

Thank You Lord,

For the desire to work productively,

The determination to work meaningfully

and the diligence to work effectively.

Bless my hands with skill,

and my mind with creativity,

That all that I do may bring you honour and glory,

opportunity for others,

and bread for my table,

Amen.
