Holy God,

Watch over the paramedics, firefighters, police officers, rescue workers, emergency nurses, and volunteers who respond when others are in danger.

Give them clear judgment in moments when seconds matter, courage when circumstances are frightening, and compassion toward the people they encounter.

Protect them as they serve and strengthen them after difficult experiences.

Comfort the families who wait for them to return home.

May those who run toward emergencies when others must flee be surrounded by wisdom, protection, good colleagues, and our enduring gratitude.
