Prayers of gratitude and thanksgiving — words to give thanks for blessings, loved ones, and the gifts of each day.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Creator of all good things,

Thank You for the gifts we too easily overlook: morning light, food upon our tables, people who care for us, moments of laughter, opportunities to begin again, and the simple miracle of another day.

Teach us to recognise abundance without forgetting those who have little. Let gratitude make us generous, kindness make us attentive, and blessing make us eager to bless others.

For the joys we recognise and the quiet gifts we have yet to notice, we give You thanks.

Amen.

Prayer of Gratitude for Country

Creator Spirit,

Thank You for the land beneath our feet, the rivers that bring life, the trees that give shelter, and the sky that reminds us of Your greatness.

May we walk gently upon Country, taking only what we need and caring for all living things with wisdom and respect. Teach us to see the beauty in every sunrise, every bird's song, and every changing season.

Help us remember that we are connected to the land and responsible for protecting it for those who will come after us.

May our hearts always be filled with gratitude for the gifts of Creation.

Amen.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Gracious Father,

With a thankful heart I come before You, praising You for Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love. Every good and perfect gift comes from You, and I am grateful for Your faithfulness throughout every season of life.

Thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of sins, and for the hope of eternal life. Thank You for Your daily provision, for my family and friends, for the opportunities You provide, and for the countless blessings I often overlook.

Help me to be content in every circumstance, trusting that You know what I need before I ask. Teach me to live with generosity, sharing Your love through acts of kindness, compassion, and service.

May my life become an offering of praise. Let my words encourage others, my actions reflect Christ's love, and my heart remain fixed upon You.

Receive my gratitude, my worship, and my life as an expression of love for You.

In the precious name of Jesus Christ, I pray.

Amen.

A Prayer of Gratitude

Gracious Creator,

Today I pause to give thanks. Thank You for the gift of life, for every breath I take, for every opportunity to grow, and for every blessing—both seen and unseen.

Thank You for family, friends, teachers, mentors, and even strangers whose kindness has touched my life. Thank You for the lessons hidden within difficulties and the joy found in moments of peace.

Guard me against becoming ungrateful or taking Your gifts for granted. Open my eyes to the beauty that surrounds me each day—the warmth of the sun, the laughter of children, the comfort of friendship, and the hope that tomorrow brings.

May gratitude shape my attitude, generosity guide my actions, and compassion fill my heart. Let me become a source of encouragement to others, sharing freely the kindness I have received.

Accept this prayer as an expression of sincere thankfulness, and help me live each day with a grateful heart.

Amen.

Thanksgiving Prayer

Lord of all goodness,

How easy it is to forget how much I have been given.

Today I stop to count the gifts:

the air in my lungs,

the people who love me,

the food on my table,

the beauty that surrounds me

— often unnoticed.

Thank you for ordinary miracles:

a kind word from a stranger,

a child's laughter,

the warmth of sunlight on my face.

And thank you too for the harder gifts —

the struggles that shaped me,

the losses that deepened me,

the pain that taught me compassion.

For all of it: thank you.

Amen.
