Prayer for peace

A Christianity prayer.

Lord, You who dwell in mercy and truth,
hear the cry of my heart in this place.

Soften the hardened places within me,
where I have grown cold, where I have shut out love.
Break not my spirit, O God,
but break what binds it from You.

Renew a steadfast spirit within me,
that I may not be moved by fear or sorrow,
but remain rooted like a tree by living waters.

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and let not my thoughts be clouded with what is unworthy.
Wash me, and I shall be made new;
quiet the noise within me, and make me whole.

Teach me to walk in Your ways in the morning light,
and to rest in Your peace at night.
Let my soul remember Your goodness
when my strength feels small.

For You are my refuge,
my renewing breath,
my peace in the storm.
